RapidWeaver
A New Era In Training & Support
17/08/08 07:39
A new venture is about to launch. A partnership
with 3 well known Rapidweaver Forum Members.
• A long time Theme Developer
• A great technical support and Screencaster & long time Forum Support Guru
• A book writer, part time theme developer and Forum Stalwart
We have taken our skills and for the last 10 months we have been devising the plan. For the last few months we have been working on a custom theme and the development of the new venture.
Goal: To create the best Mac Software Training Site on in the Webverse
The Venue: Short 3 to 5 Minute Online ScreenCasts
Welcome to SupportCasts.com
Our first goal is to cover all things Rapidweaver. From the basics of using the software to advanced techniques, from CSSEdit to Photoshop techniques.
We will also add in other web design software, how to use your Mac, and any software we feel the Macverse needs to have short training on.
We don’t intend to review software. We are not Critics, nor do we wish to hold our opinions “on high”
Just simple, straight forward and short (did we say short?) “how to’s” so you can “eat the elephant” one bite at a time.
So who are the three Amigos?
• Gary “BByrdhouse” Byrd from RapidWeaverThemes.com
• Kevin “Kbbrux” Burns - CRM Technik Ltd. (Germany)
• Larry “Sundog” Pollock (me)
We plan on launching very soon. So watch this blog, the Rapidweaver Forum, the SupportCasts Blog, and Twitter for more information.

Squeeze Theme Being Updated for 4.0
29/04/08 12:12
I am busy at work updating the Squeeze theme for Rapidweaver 4.0 that is on
the horizon now. Squeeze 3.6 will work just
fine so there is no need to worry about sites
made previously. In fact, I plan on having
Squeeze 4.0 to allow a
separate installation so you can keep your
previous versions of the theme in the Theme
Drawer.
While I am at it I am looking at what updates I can make to the theme. I have already added a second level of sub navigation instead of the original single level and I am looking into other enhancements too.
Watch for an update email for existing users and notices on this blog and the RW Forum.

RapidWeaver 4.0 Preview
23/04/08 12:34
David Chartier has a nice
write up on Rapidweaver 4.0. Obviously
he has a demo copy (lucky him).
Some nice new features and some cleaned up ones too.
You can read about this over at the Ars Technica site
If you like it, go over and DIGG this
Nothing more for me to say, David's got this one...

Squeeze Theme is Here!
12/12/07 18:56
Squeeze is a theme with many faces. As the name
suggests, Squeeze is named after those one page
sales letter sites. But Wait! There's More!....
You can make a Splash page for any site, or start turning on any of the parts of the theme, hidden by default, to use Squeeze for a full site. A nice set of colour pickers are included in the theme variations so you can easily customize the color of just about any part.
This is one fast and lightweight theme. No images are used in it, so unless you pack them in to your site, Squeeze should load in browsers in a flash.
Tutorials and css are included to help you tweak the sidebar and content height to suit your needs and look. Even a tutorial on how to place an image in the header, 3 ways!
Take a look. Demo Site

Free Themes from Dave Cantu

That's right!
Dave Cantu has decided to give all of his themes away for free. This is from Dave's Post on the RW Forum:
"I am sorry but I have been ill and haven't been able to tend to my site or email for over a month and a half.
As an apology for falling behind, I have decided to make all of my current themes free downloads to everyone. Future New themes will still be sold but all current themes will remain permanently available free of charge. Members that have contacted me with access problems will get their memberships sorted out by the time the first new theme is released.
Hope you all understand. "
A very generous offer indeed!

What have I been up to?
10/09/07 12:34
Other than being very busy with my main business
this year, I have been working on getting this book
out.
There is a lot of great information on the Rapidweaver Forum IF you know how to find it. Plus, there was no full tutorial and set of information on how to modify themes, identify the proper css and generally find what you needed to know to make the theme look as you wanted.
There are also a lot of the the same questions on the Forum that get repeated over and over again. I hope by writing the books I have in mind to reduce these common questions and help RW users get up to speed faster.
What does the future hold in store for Inside Rapidweaver? I have a number of ideas to help get the information into the hands and minds of the community.
I will reveal more soon!
